Don't waste your money sending students to this school for their Freshman and Sophomore years unless you have money to throw away. I received a highly superior education as far as introductory courses at Kalamazoo Valley Community College. Intro classes at the UofM are just cattle cars. Not that the information isn't top notch, but it is no different than what you would learn in community college. In community college classes are around 20-30 rather than 500 or more, and it doesn't matter so much if the professor is accessible (which they are), but the point is that they are able to answer questions right in class for the benefit of all the students. Another difference is that at UofM you would spend $7,000 a year for the same education you could pay $1,400 for at a community college (a good one). Upper level classes however are excellent as far as content of information, and often teacher assistants are very helpful and eager to meet with students.
