I have come to realize that FAU is a totally leftist business which doesn't really care about their students.

A lot of the negative cons (even listed here) fit FAU's description entirely. Everything, from exams not reflecting course material, applying useful experience, helpful learning experiences, not being just another number that hasn't sent payment yet, as well as individual value and anti-social peers are all cons of this school.

Let me just start by saying that I have been forced to attend FAU because I thought it would be a good college to just go to, work, and graduate from. Unfortunately, it turns out they are extending their curriculum and including all this useless stuff that isn't relevant to the already irrelevant course work. Trying to become a programmer or engineer, and already know what you're doing? This school is not for you. It seems like a very robust and lifeless system in which they try to get you to take '2 semesters of language courses, 4 semesters of english courses, a couple of math courses' when you are studying 'programming'. Plus, if you are like me: you realize it's all introductory nonsense and academic riddles. You spend 5 months out of 6 doing absolutely nothing in a class, because the assignments and content are all useless and too easy to perform. Then pray that you know what the cryptic professor will put on their exam 80% of the time. I am smart and pass my classes, but the structure is clearly designed to make you confused and make you fail. It's pathetic and it's almost like the professors and everyone there knows they will just get your money for the useless junk that they teach, go on vacation, and then repeat the process. They don't care and they act like they are gods that are completely unquestionable. Their curriculum takes 5-6 years whereas some friends of mine have graduated in exactly 4 with less classes up north. It's pathetic to me and they're just increasing useless requirements here.

I have also noticed the trend where more experienced people don't seem to go here. Even if you take the smaller amount of (more challenging) majors that are going to guarantee a job, they are full of kids and people who will try to cheat off of you in group work. (most) Peers usually just seem immature or anti-social in a way where they can't even ask questions if they have them, and the school wants you to be this way anyway. Once they have your thousands of dollars, they couldn't care less if you go to a class, sit in the class learning nothing, and then you're in the same boat as someone like me who doesn't go to the classes and still passes. It's a ridiculous business or money-making system and it seems to just be another instance of older people in suits taking advantage of younger people. I honestly feel bad for anyone going to this university to take any lesser major like liberal arts, sex/gender studies, literature, math majors, antropology, etc.. they all just want to milk you for money, and then you'll probably get a job later that has nothing to do with your college experience. It's a pretty boring and bad college as well. Wouldn't continue going here if I had the choice; and personally I only continue because I only have about a year left and my indoctrinated parents go insane if I suggest that I don't need college. It's a pathetic money-generation system and if you are smart, then you can somewhat realize it's a scam from day one. Brainless and ignorant blissful individuals tend to fit in there well.
