Major: Aerospace Engineering (This Major's Salary over time)
I have gone to another University before Embry-Riddle, and transferred to complete my education in Aerospace Engineering. To sum it up before going into detail, it is not a good school. The quality of education is considered so highly by the students there, but unfortunately the campus focus is way off and the education you receive does not prepare you for industry. Working with the industry you want and self education will benefit you more than the campus, and henceforth deeming your GPA and education at ERAU completely useless. Attend another university and keep your focus and keep learning, you'll end up okay without this school. But for those of you that want more details: If you are a committed individual who wants to contribute towards the aerospace community, then Embry-Riddle is regarded as one of the most arrogant and snooty schools in the market and is not an advisable school. The classes are similar to athletic conditioning in their construction and design. Aerospace and Engineering is about the process of learning and building, this school does not build engineers rather it just conditions individuals to portray engineers. The students: You will notice the campus consists of Engineering students and Pilots. That means they are either antisocial jerks, or arrogant jerks. Now coming from a more multicultural university the students at ERAU have overall been a depressing nightmare, and if you actually ask any student how they are feeling they are all universally depressed.Culture: So my first day that i attended school, I was told this "well this can be a great school, but if anything goes wrong the school is not here to help you." Next thing i heard from several students, "there are clicks that exist within the faculty and the students, if you get on the wrong side of the campus you will get bullied out of the University by both Faculty and students alike." So head my warning, the school is not there to help you and neither are the faculty and staff. So if you think you won't have any problems then by all means give ERAU a shot, but if you find that you get chemical exposure on finals week and spend a night at the hospital, there may be a darker reason for it.
