University is more than school learning, it's about growing your mind in a myriad of ways: socially, challenging your organizational and leadership prowess, providing outlets to try out a variety of job like functions - like a radio station announcer or drama or counseling, study abroad, sororities, multiple internships in the real world or american studies TA. At maryland you get to do it all, just seek it out and it's there for you. I lived a 24 hr day during 4 years there and loved every minute while still maintaining a 3.7 average. Car tickets are the only negative!
