The University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign is a wonderful place to have your college experience. It is the stereotypical university in almost every sense- class is hard, parties are crazy, etc. However, just as in any other college, it is what you make of it; that's what puts UIUC ahead of the pack. This institution allows you to shape your own college experience by providing virtually any academic, technological, or social resource you might need. Into chemistry? You can have any chemical, equipment, or research you want by finding who to ask and filling out some papers. Into theater? Check out the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, the largest public-school theater center in the country, which hosts concerts, plays, musicals, and various annual music festivals. Want to join a frat/sorority? Illinois has the largest Greek community on any campus, anywhere. The possibilities are absolutely endless. I like to think of it as a small, thriving city within a city, populated by ~35,000 smart, motivated, and diverse people. The bottom line is, UIUC provides exceptional opportunities for personal and professional growth, and I couldn't see myself studying anywhere else.
