Major: Mechanical Engineering (This Major's Salary over time)
I love this school, it's a small university to be sure, but that's part of what makes it so appealing. Just on the walk to class you'll see so many people you know. Of course, that assumes that you're involved in extracurriculars/ don't lock yourself in your room all day, which you shouldn't! Greek life here is awesome, and I highly recommend it to everyone, it's not just about the parties or being 'cool', it's about having a family on campus that's there to support you however you need it! Plus, since it's an engineering school sorority/fraternity, you're more than likely to find someone who will join you in the library till 4 am during finals week. Speaking of finals week, WPI's 4 quarter terms are great if you like fast paced and intense learning. However, as long as you keep up with the work you're not likely to fall behind (unless you get mono or something haha). I've only completed freshman year so I can't speak personally about the IQP/MQP projects (which occur in junior/senior year) but I've had friends go through them and they say it looks really good on a resume, and that it's helped them develop real world skills. Other notable things about the school, the food in the freshman dining hall is meh, but passable, and the dorms can either be generic (Morgan/Daniels hall) or really small/ out of the way (Stoddard/Institute). But overall I love this school, everyone is very friendly here, and I actually like getting up and going to my classes (except the 8 ams of course, ugh).
