Major: Computer Science (This Major's Salary over time)
I attended CHC last year and transferred out, and oh boy let me tell you it was hands down the worst year of my life, and im not kidding. First off if youre considering going here, think carefully. Why on earth would you come here when you are surrounded by REAL schools like Temple, Drexel, La Salle, St Joes, and UPenn?Any way I made the choice to come here due to the scholarship I was given(like most students). I was coming here for almost nothing. I applied to it for safety reasons (75% acceptance rate). Within a week I knew that i had to get out of there. First off the school is incredibly small, only about 1800 students, and that number includes graduate and non traditional students, my high school was bigger. When a school is this small it makes for the same social cliques that you see in high school. Jocks with jocks, nerds with nerds, if you walk into the cafeteria you'll see what I mean. On top of this most students are idiots, rarely come to class, and never really try hard. If they do happen to come they just sleep or text away. To make things worse the class rooms are so rundown and nasty, and smell pretty awful. Academically it was ok. Teachers were willing to help, but some were idiots. I was a Comp Sci major, but one of my professors for one of my programming classes didnt have his degree in the field. Weird right? And lets face it, this is not a well known school. Every time I told somebody that I came here their response was "Where is that?", and these were people from the area. It was quite embarrassing. Dont get me started about the food. It tasted like plastic, and I had the runs within 20 minutes after eating it. On top of this the cafeteria closed at like 6. The only other place to get food after this time was a place called the griffins den, and it tasted awful. If you want a good social DO NOT COME HERE. I commuted and im glad i did because you could tell there was nothing to do. Dont believe me? Ask anybody who went there. There are few clubs, no frats, and zero parties. Today I attend Temple University, and im so glad I did. Its pretty affordable despite no scholarship. The students are much more intelligent, and the less brighter ones are at least willing to try. Everything about it is better, aside from the fact that its in the middle of a rough neighborhood.RUN FROM CHC!
