Major: Political Science (This Major's Salary over time)
I came here in the Fall of 2010 and the move in process was very stressful. First, you got humid 90 degree weather in the end of August and no air conditioning in the Valleys. Then you have long lines to get on the elevator. Also, Fall Welcome had some pointless activities and I felt like I was babied around. I came here majoring in Political Science to eventually become a lawyer. But that has changed. Over the summer, I wanted to become a park ranger in a National Park or work for the DNR. So I decided to double major in Geography and Political Science and that dodn't work out. I found a program at Michigan State called Natural Resource Recreation and I thought that was perfect. I have decided to transfer there. And besides, Western has a good social life and very committed staff. But, many things to criticize about this school. The dining hall food is very unhealthy, people are underachievers are and smoke and party like crazy, doind laundry at the valleys sucks because the wash machines fill up with water and your clothes are drenched and you are forced to dry them twice. TWICE. And the staff in the Valleys are horrible. When somethin is broken, they do not fix it right away and leave it be, for example the elevator or the treadmills in the fitness room. And finally, Kalamazoo is a ghetto!!! Ive been to downtown a few times and it is one of the most sketchiest places I've ever been. Homeless people hangin around the train station and beggin for money. And Western is inconveniently located way outside town so that kinda limits my visitation of downtown. ADVICE: Dont go here if you really take your education seriously. Go here if you want to party, get drunk, get high, fail classes, and annoy other people. Well thank God I'm transferring to Michigan State!!!
