I attended SLU for less than a semester. Sure, the academics were decent, and SLU does seem to maintain a great academic repuation, however, many many many other aspects of SLU are sub par. First of all, this is a catholic, jesuit institution we are talking about, and with that, drinking is not tolerated. Yes, there are parties (off campus apartments, bars if youre 21 or have a fake ID), however, don't plan on retutrning to campus after a night of drinking. I have been written up on my way home while walking through campus, and have also been written up in the dorms. And once you get written up, the division of student conduct will not go easy on you. They willmake you go to substanc abuse classes, alcohol counseling, write papers, pay fines, do community service, etc. It got to the point where I was staying in peoples' off campus apartments almst ever night when i went out, often times people i didn;t even know very well, and whenever i did decidede to go back to my dorm instead of staying at randos apartments, i would get written up by my RA for coming home "highly intoxicated". My advice, don't attend SLU…over all, the people are stuck up and snobby, the social life is severely lacking considering there are no frat houses and the DPS (campus police) are very strict, and the division of student conduct is a bitch to deal with. I have not kept in contact with a single person that I met, or was "friends" with while attending SLU.
