If you choose to rush into the Greek system, you are not guaranteed housing in the dorms, if things don't work out. If you do not get in to a house, you are put in temporary housing w/ a slew of other people in an inadequate situation, ie no electricity at your bedside or desk. If you are given a choice to move into the dorms, you probably will end up w/ a problem roommate who no one else wanted to live with. If you cancel your housing contract, you will be charged usurious fees to leave campus housing. NOT worth it!!! If you are unhappy in your living situation, you will not have a very good academic experience. After leaving dorm housing, I was not able to choose roommates for the second year and do not have housing for my second year at UW. I was put on the lowest priority list for campus housing.
