I've really enjoyed my time at Kettering and my co-op is nice. I wish I worked where some of my friends work (like testing "infotainment" systems for cars), but I know that I will be able to find a new job upon graduation. The experience I am gaining from doing real work will hopefully make a difference in the long run. When I got to campus it was a bit hard to find a co-op with the economy being pretty tough, but I worked with my co-op manager and everything worked out well and I had a position by the end of my first term. This year's freshman class seems to have it easier and a number I talk to already have a co-op job and it looks like even GM is hiring again.

I live in the apartments associated with Kettering and everything is great. It has been a little tough with the construction outside of my building (the road), but it will be great when finished this fall. I am also looking forward to the new fraternity house down the street. I would advise against renting a private home in the area (even though the rent is dirt cheap), some of the landlords are quite shady, but I guess you can get that anywhere.

For social/Flint life I would check out the Miller Road area or the Cultural Center. They have top notch entertainment that comes to the auditorium and quite often they have cheap student tickets. Miller Road has everything you need from fast food to high priced joints as well as the mall, Target, and Best Buy.
