Hi, i read your comments and i feel THE EXACT SAME WAY about everything, but most importantly the bottom/last two paragraphs (about the people, not the dating scene part) you summed up everything i've been complaining about for two years and the reasons i am transfering. Thank you, because it is very hard to find people who don't pretend to like this school. |
I'm glad you found the review helpful you will be much happier once you leave, after being in that environment you forget what its like to be in a real down to earth more laid back environment. Do you know where you are transferring to yet? Good Luck! |
It is a difficult school to make friends in however there are plenty of groups that like our club The FreeThinkers which is very open to people joining no matter who you are. Being a guy in the school who is not guy is great seeing how their are plenty of good looking girls to talk to. I admit that the people there was including workers and staff can be kinda snobby though. |
Good review, I agree. But also I can say that you can meet many good people here and even find your love. So be patient. By the way if you are alone I can recommend to visit Hot or Not dating site, works really good! |
Good post. Personally I usually don't have such problems. But sometimes I suffer from writing assignments and I hate such tasks in general. Usually I use professional help, or special tips like on https://www.nichemarket.co.za/blog/academia/practical-tips-conclude-essay to write good work and get good mark! |
So luck to come across your excellent blog. Your blog brings me a great deal of fun.. Good luck with the site.lista de empresas b2b |
Major: Communications (This Major's Salary over time)
I would not recommend going to Emerson College. I was a transfer student that went there for a year. The issues I found with Emerson are the following. The school really lacks a sense of community because there is hardly any campus there. The school is plopped in a few buildings on a city block, It is very hard to create a decent social life at Emerson because the majority of the students live off campus IT IS A COMMUTER SCHOOL. Once classes are done people take off and don't hang out.Its really hard living in Boston without a car. When it is five degrees and you have strep throat and no food in your house the last thing you want to do is walk four miles in the cold to the nearest grocery store and hop on two different trains. The basics of living are harder in this kind of an environment, everything takes longer, due to insane traffic, crowds and not having a car etc. …It's overall a harder life there than most other places. RENT is also INSANELY expensive. Boston is very expensive, expect it to be just as expensive as New York City.In terms of my teachers at Emerson…I found many of my professors were people that did not want to be there but were teaching to pay the bills. Most of the professors are not teachers by first nature, but professional actors, writers, editors etc. The disadvantage to this is that they would rather be acting or writing instead of teaching, students are not their first priority. Just because someone can't act or write doesn't mean they can teach. I felt all of my classes were bullshit and waste of money. I did not learn anything from my teachers, however I will say the one thing I learned at Emerson college was how to be a better academic writer. I learned this through going to the writing center and my instructor there was a grad student who was a better teacher than all of my professors combined. The Dating scene there sucks:Emerson is a gay man's paradise, however if you are a girl, its terrible school for finding guys to date as the majority of the guys there are gay. Most of the girls I knew that had boyfriends met them at other schools, or through a fluke. If you are a minority or mixed race I do not recommend going to Emerson, there is little to no diversity. The majority of the students are wealthy trust fund baby, hipster, posers that are narcistic and spoiled. No one there is "real" or down to earth, but sheltered people that have lived in a bubble. There are some decent people there but you have to really search for them. It is hard to find stable, down to earth, truly good people at this school. The academics are terrible, and the social scene there sucks. Save your money. The state school I transferred from was a THOUSAND times better and fraction of the cost. When I got into Emerson, I was so excited and thought it was going to be amazing and much better than the the school I transferred from. My experience was the exact opposite. DO NOT GO TO EMERSON COLLEGE, YOU WILL WASTE ALOT OF MONEY, HARD EFFORT AND TIME. The best choice of my life was to leave and I have never been happier since doing so.
