YCP was my first choice for college because I liked that they stated they wanted us to excel, but also to have fun. My freshman year was amazing, I partied a lot, but besides that I was miserable. I soon learned that everyone either transferred out or dropped out and my sophomore year I spent studying(I'm not complaining) and had some friends in a sorority. My highest GPA there was a 3.0.The people I encountered were the ones who were only looked to party or get high. By the middle of my sophomore year, I went Greek and tried to get into the sorority where my friends were, only to get rejected. I began to learn that the rest of the people I met were two-faced, so I applied for transfer. Now at a different school, I see that the people at YCP were a lower group of people and I am doing so much better where I am now.I do know a lot of people who were mugged(in a group or pairs, no less) and a car was stolen off campus(West Campus in front of Richland) so the nearby area isn't necessarily safe. But once again, treat Jackson and Princess Streets as a city, don't walk around there alone. In conclusion, it wasn't the education part of it that I hated at York(even though I wasn't challenged enough). My first semester at my new college I made Dean's List. But what was the worse were the students who attended. I don't want to call them a lower class of people, but people who cared mostly about themselves and did not show respect for others.
