This college exceeded my expectations, even though I did not know what to expect. It is true that the college is a school for teachers (which is what I did), but I feel that I learned more from my core classes than my education classes. People are going to bash the school on this site because they feel that the school owes them something. Those who are satisfied with their educations, live happily and feel no need to share their feelings. Sure this college is not for everybody, but if you appreciate the small town aspect, and an environment, where most everybody know each other, then this school is for you. There may not be a big athletics program at the college, but the hockey games are a blast, and the intramural sports are even better.

As for the people who say the classes are not interesting, then they are either taking the wrong classes, or simply haven't found what interests them the most. Individuals often mistake money with happiness, and simply push into a business program because they feel that is where they will be most successful. However, if you really explore the opportunities this school has you will be pleasantly surprised. In other words, coming in undeclared may be frightening, but the insightfulness of the professors should help inspire you, and guide you to the career path most suitable for you. On the other hand, the school assigns you an advising professor to help you select the proper classes. I talked to mine once (which was mandatory), however I developed a good rapport with a different professor who I consulted with frequently. Nevertheless, I was extremely pleased with my education, the friendliness of the students, and the party scene (which often involved binge drinking).

If you are a city dweller, I would advise against this school, because it is a small school far from any city - 35 miles from Rochester, and 65 miles from Buffalo (which are nothing in comparison to the big apple). I had several friends from Brooklyn and Manhattan, who constantly complained there was nothing to do but drink, and smoke drugs.
