Major: Computer Science (This Major's Salary over time)
I did not expect GT to be a party school or anything, but I had no idea how much I would hate being here. It's supposed to have an amazing engineering department and be such a great school, but that's all bullshit. The profs don't teach well at all, and what is a "good school" but a school with good teaching? As an undergraduate, I could not care less how much research is done here, and that is what this college's reputation is based on.The majority of students here are miserable because they are so bogged down with work. The classes are curved so that everybody is in cutthroat competition, and the average grade is guaranteed to be a 2.0, regardless of whether everybody understands the material or nobody does. This makes cheating the norm, as students will do whatever they can to get a decent grade.Do not go to this school. You will be trapped here by your low GPA (no chance to transfer anywhere decent) and funneled into a career there is a good chance you will hate (assuming you do engineering, it seems like 90% of students do). If you want to major in an engineering field, GO TO A SCHOOL THAT HAS A WIDE RANGE OF OPTIONS. If you're smart enough to get into GT you can get into any number of large colleges with good engineering departments, but unlike GT they will have OTHER good departments you can transfer into if you realize you don't like engineering.
