Coming from a Jewish Family in Boston, I thought SLU would be a great place to learn more about different people and religions. Not so much. Very little diversity. Everyone is either from a private Catholic School (so they automatically think they're better than you), and we have some international students from China which SLU ignores. SLU is really what you make of it but it requries a lot of effort. Social like is OK. You do not need to be greek to have one since greek life is laid back and you can go to pretty much any event worthwhile. Academically, students only try to play the system and I have met few that actually really try to understand the material vs. only memorize what will be on the test. A lot of professors do get frustrated with this. SLU has a lot of opportunities for everyone, you just really need to know yourself or you could get lost in all of it.
