Geneseo was the greatest four years of my life. I grew up in a small bubble town on Long Island where if something happened, the whole town knew about 5 minutes later. It disgusted me how snobby and judgemental everyone was on Long Island.

When I moved to Geneseo I knew nothing of the way of life and was nervous about being on my own because of how dog eat dog my high school was. Within the first hour of being in my dorm I knew everyone because everyone wanted to meet new people. Everyone seemed so friendly and I became good friends with a lot of people in the Buffalo and Rochester areas. Quickly I was invited to friends houses for family dinners and felt welcome everywhere I went.

Social life on campus consisted of a lot of partying. Freshman year was spent drinking an average of 6 nights a week. I can still remember staying up til 6AM reaking havoc in the dorm lounges. Most of the partying occured off campus at fraternities, but some of the best parties occured with sports teams. Now I wasn't on a team but if you make friends with people who are, they are more then willing to let you join the fun (I'd like to suggest the club volleyball team). My suggestion would be to move off campus as soon as possible, which may be difficult with new policy they've put in place.

The academic life became difficult with all the partying so it really does become time to settle down about halfway through sophomore year. The professors are very knowledgable and I feel that it is important to avoid classes that may seem more difficult. Professors that are easier to understand often have tests that aren't graded on a curve because their tends to be a curve breaker in the class, but this means the professors is more insightful.

Clearly classes will get more difficult as the course number increases.
