The Good:

Beautiful campus, friendly people - both the students and the townsfolk. Professors are generally approachable and helpful.

If you like the outdoors, Clemson makes a great "base camp."

You get the benefits of a small town (low crime, cheap housing) with the benefits of a major research university.

It's hard to beat the experience of Clemson football.

The Bad:

The dorms suck. A large number of students leave after Freshman year. The rest leave after sophomore year.

Parking Services is evil.

There really isn't much to do in town besides Clemson sports and the college bar scene. If you aren't 21, it's even worse. The cops really don't have anything better to do than bust underage drinkers. When it isn't a football or basketball weekend, people leave.

It's an engineering school in the middle of nowhere. Don't expect much in the way of arts and/or culture. The campus is not very ethnically or ideologically diverse.

If you don't join a "group" (e.g. frat/sorority, bible study, club, etc.) you'll have a hard time finding friends or things to do.
