I love Virginia Tech. I think it has the greatest diversity of majors of any Virginia school. Come on, where else do you have engineering kids, cadets, architects, forestry students, and ag undergrads who are all unbelievably nice and friendly. I think that, beyond nationally ranked academics and football, the thing that defines Tech is the spirit of the student body. Forget about the pretensions and cliques of high school, Tech is full of mature, genuine, affable, and really smart people. If getting an amazing education on a beautiful campus, surrounded by honest people is more important to you than the bragging rights of a "brand-name" university, come to Tech. You won't regret it.

questionDoes Vt has a lot of diversity student wise and i know the academic part of the school is good but what about the social part? Are many parties. i dont intend to go there because i want to party all the time but i do want to have fun!
responseHi, I wrote the review:

Personality wise, VT has diversity, race wise not so much. Tons of parties, but also a lot of alcohol-free things to do if (like me) you aren't into that. You don't have to worry about whether if VT is fun - ask any Hokie (our mascot, turkey-like bird) and they will say YES!!! There are VT football games & tailgates, pick-up games of football, frisbee, and volleyball, lots of outdoor-sy stuff to do (seriously, come visit - the scenery here is unbelievable), parties, and if you do theme housing dorm-specific activities. You'll get a great education & have a great college experience.

questionBut there are different races (black, asian, hispanic)right? i just want to meet people from all different backgrounds including white people and one more question how are the dorms ? Everything else you said was convincing enough thank you ,hopefully i become an hokie very soon
responseIt's me again. There are different races, I'd say the race breakdown (from most to least) goes white, asian, black, hispanic. If you are really into meeting people from different backgrounds, you might want to try W.O.R.L.D. theme housing - it puts you with alot of the international students, or M.O.S.A.I.C. - that dorm is all about diversity. But, everyone here is very open and you don't need to live in theme housing to meet lots of different people. The regular dorms are fun, well kept, but small. They are set up traditional style - two people to a room, hall bathrooms. One nice thing is that every room has a sink (vanity style) in it, so you don't have to go down the hall to wash your face and brush your teeth. Living on campus is required for all freshman, but after that you can move off campus. If you decide to stay on campus as an upperclassman, there are much nicer dorms.
