I am attending UW as a post-bac, working on a second undergraduate degree in a field completely separate from my first undergrad degree. My advice to people who want to do the same? Don't attend UW. Being in the heart of a huge city, with a large population of people aspiring to technical knowledge, perhaps for a career change, you'd think UW would be a place that accommodates people like me. Unfortunately, UW isn't the place for anyone but traditional undergraduates. The courses are scheduled at wierd times during the day and with no thought about people with work lives. The teachers assign work as if everyone lives right on campus and can schedule meetings for group work at any time of the day—even though only a small share of the students live closeby.UW is a commuter school with all of the detriments of a commuter school (no parking, big city environment, lacking social and support groups), and none of the benefits (flexible school hours, courses with assignments that show that teachers understand that your life isn't only about school). For second bac's, if you're placebound, instead of UW, find yourself an online school or save up the big bucks and look at the regional private schools. If you aren't placebound, look at attending one of the other state schools.
