Major: Nursing (This Major's Salary over time)
Being in the nursing program here at SLU, i get a different perspective than a lot of the business school students. From what i have gathered, the majority of the students in other majors assume a lackadaisical approach toward their school work. This is not true at all in the nursing program. The grading scale is very hard, with a 90 being a low B, the course work is challenging, and staying ahead involves a lot of hard work.Despite the challenges, i am a varsity athlete here at SLU and the professors are able to work with me when i miss class and are very approachable. The counselors are a different story. You will want to have a good handle on what you are hoping to major in when you arrive on campus. The social scene is pretty diversified due to the fact that frats/sororities do not rule the school. Granted, they are noticeably present, other things are out there than their parties. There are 3 bars right off campus that SLU students attend on a nightly basis, but because we are in the heart of St. Louis, venturing into the downtown area, especially Laclede's landing, is also a good time.
