For one considering Embry-Riddle, the quality of education is dependent on the effort you place. I found the quality of education (instruction) given from the faculty to be top-notch! This is particularly true in the Aeronautical Science department. However, in regard to flight, I did not enjoy nor find the flight program as particularly "top-notch." The flight program was primarily concerned about making money. And its instructors, particularly concerned about building hours to get to the airlines (by taking advantage of their students). Hence, why I did not do my flight instructor ratings at ERAU (nor would I ever consider instructing at ERAU).

However, other than the flight program (which made things much more complicated that it 'ought to be), everything else was fine (except for the campus food). Would I attend ERAU again? Probably. However, I would have majored in another subject relating to Aviation (probably ASP). I would then attain flight training elsewhere such as SkySchool or Northaire (that is, if they are still in business).

My biggest piece of advice is to pick your friends wisely! It is a great place to network! Now most of my friends are flying at regional airlines (a few at major airlines). Remember, getting a job as a pilot at great airlines is all about networking!
