I thought I was the perhaps one of the few miserable souls, but apparently there are quite a few. I transferred to GT from GSU for god knows what reason. I don't know what I was thinking. I've had a miserable time. The students are generally approachable, but also some are extremely arrogant and stuck up and think they are super brilliant; or they are dumb as a brick and I can't figure out how they got in. Imagine taking all the annoying people from highschool and sticking them in one college. Instead of having 1 know-it-all constant-hand-raiser-comment-maker, you have a classroom full of them. Honestly they should save their erroneous comment and stupid question until class is over. It's turned out to be a serious dissappointment. Although GT's reputation is.."good" the school sucks. The assignments are all busy work, and it's like being back in high school. After having gone to another college, I realize that GT doesn't have a superhard workload, it's just a lot of busywork. The exams and material covered are the same as GSU(including using the same book), except at GT you have loads and loads more useless busywork that usurps all your time. Don't go here unless you're a masochist with no life. The professors suck at teaching, some just read their powerpoint slides, some don't speak English, and some just suck. The social life here, as I've experienced it, is non-existent. Midtown Atlanta might sound exciting, but it gets old real fast. You won't form friendships that last a lifetime, at most you'll find a study-buddy for the semester. Another thing, the classes offered are sooo limited you'll never get all the classes you want in one semester. GT is NOT a school where you can assess your options, take a bunch of random but interesting classes, and take your time picking a major. If you have hopes of graduating in 4 years you have to know you're major when you start. So GT is the school for you if you are going to go greek, a complete antisocial nerd, don't care about having a life, ok with teaching yourself the course material, and one of those know-it-all annoying bastards that I mentioned before. And if you like GT sports I guess. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE FOLKS! I'm stuck here and all I hope for my future is GT's "good" reputation will get me a "good" job.
