I'm a student of myriad interests. Originally, I thought of going to a smaller school. I'm glad I didn't because the best thing I can say about Penn is that it provides you with OPPORTUNITIES. The people are wonderful, the professors stimulating, the environment exciting. I like to try different things. Consequently, I quickly came to see the value of a larger Ivy League university. Penn is neither too big nor too small. It's the type of place where you never run out of cool people to meet; but simultaneously, you run into someone you know everytime you walk across campus. For me, that was perfect. It's large enough that you can be alone if you choose, but there are always people to talk to or hang out with or have those fantastic middle-of-the-night philosphical debates. Furthermore, the university has so many classes and activities, that it allows you to explore things you never anticipated being interested in. For example, I decided freshman year that I wanted to join a modern dance troupe - I had never danced before in my life. At a smaller university, that might not have been a possibility. Overall, Penn is an excellent university. I loved my time there. And I'm glad that I attended a university that could help me grow as an individual and as a leader, in any direction, whether anticipated or no.
