Cornell is competetive and expensive. There are many schools that probably offer a very good education for less money. Graduating with an Ivy League degree is helpful if you are trying to get a job with an economics degree. However, if you are planning to apply for medical school or law school where grades and relative ranking matter, I would advise against placing yourself in as competitve of an environment.
