There are three distinct opinions regarding PCC. There are those who absolutely despise the school, the rules, and everything to do with the school. There are those who are absolutely in love with the school and all that it holds; these are usually called the "Kool Aid Drinkers." Then there are those of us who have a more moderate opinion. We are the "gleaners"; we took what we could and have moved on. I loved my time at PCC. I was not one who ever had a problem with rules and regulations. Had I applied myself more and stayed out of the Commons less I could have graduated with honors. Every opinion you read should be taken with a grain of salt.

This is a Christian college with independent, fundamental beliefs. Some things you will agree with, other things you will not. You will not change the administration, so do not go expecting to do so. The college is not currently ('07) accredited which has caused a few problems for some in transferring, achieving higher education or being hired for some occupations regardless of what the college says it is able to do through alumni assistance. (I have a family member who is having difficulty so it is not just idle talk.) If you know what you are majoring in you do need to be aware of accedidation issues and have a plan should you choose to attend. With the recent change of pastor, there has been turmoil in the ranks. Rumors run rampant so I will not address them here. You will need to ask about the faculty positions for the major you want to take. Find out the background and years spent teaching that subject (both at PCC and elsewhere). Your major's core classes are important; don't neglect to know this before you apply. Compare majors with other colleges and universities offering the same major. Your education is important; that is what you are paying for.

You will learn character building here. It will prepare you for life. Rules exist in every occupation. Life building skills will be learned. Yes, it is necessary to scrub the toilet and shower every week. You do need to respect your roommates; clean up after yourself and keep quiet when they are trying to take a nap or study.

MANY things have changed since I was a student. Some rules have been "loosened", others added as society changes. While I was there PCC underwent its largest building expansion of the campus. I believe 8 or more projects were either completed and a few more begun during my tenure. More buildings have been added since.

Suffice it to say, no one can answer for you where to go to college. There are several good Christian colleges that I could recommend. PCC is among them. I can not rate it at the top of my list until I see how things settle down with the new pastor. Do your research. PRAY HARD. Visit the campus. Ask questions. Weed through the stock answers. If you don't like what you see or think you will have problems with the rules, DO NOT GO JUST BECAUSE IT IS CHEAPER!!!!!!! Save yourself and the college time and hardship. God has a plan for you. It is up to you to be still and listen to Him.
