Major: Other (This Major's Salary over time)
My major is Avaition Flight Science, or in lehman's terms I'm training to be a pilot. My experience has been just a great one. I'm going to be graduating in 3 years which is exciting, but at the same time sad since I've had a great time here. I started my freshman year in the dorms, which everyone should do for at least a semester since it really helps you to meet friends and experience the traditional college life. The next two years I have been living in an off campus appartment with 3 friends I met in the dorms. Overall the campus is a great place and is set up to be primarily a walking campus. If you need to go places, the Kalamazoo Metro Bus System is free to all WMU students, which making getting around easy even if you don't have a car. The buildings are a little old, but they have recently built two new buildings and several renovations are underway or in planning stages. The majority of my professors were very good, clearly explained expectations and the work required. Also, every professor has always been increadibly willing to meet and help you or answer any questions you may have.

The social life is very diverse, whether you like to party evernight, or play games, or do homework, there is a group of people that think the same way. Being very close to downtown Kalamazoo there are many restaurants, bars, and places to just hang out and have a good time. I also encourage all students to attend sporting events. My personal favaorites are the most popular ones of football, basketball, and hockey. They all have a different atmosphere but they all have great quatlity athletes and programs at the D-I level.

Much of my time is spent in Battle Creek where Western's College of Aviation is located. It is has been one of the top three flight programs for the last 15 years running. We about 700 students in the college, and the facilities and aircraft that we fly are brand new and top of the line. The only problem is to be in this program having a car is almost mandatory. All flying and many classes are held here, and its a good 35 min drive each way, which I do on average 3 times a week. Also and Aviation Flight major costs approximately $60,000 over a four year period.

Overall, this has been the best time of my life thus far. I was originally a little unsure of what to expect since I only know one other person that had gone here when making my selection. WMU was going through a hard time with a bad president and dropping enrollment. That has been turned around now and there is a very possive atmosphere around campus. Definately worth every penny and I strongly recommmend to all, and if you are unsure of what to expect, just go in with an open mind and no preconceptions.
