This school has so much bureaucracy that eventually had the effect on the student. The school has changed ever since it switched to a semester system. Classes are very hard with very minimal and useless information from lectures. Books are simply a method for the school to make some extra money. Some are written by Professors, most are useless. The only method to get the work done is by working together with other classmates. Sometimes T.A.s help but they are quite limited. Social life within campus is non-existence, step outside to the city instead. And forget the rankings, it means nothing and it will not guarantee a good job with high wages. Ignore the statistics, it's a lie. I have many friends, me included who failed to obtain a decent job with a decent income after graduation. Compared with the money we invested with those of my other friends, the outcome does not pay off. They went to a lesser well known school and landed a good job, whereas brand name like GT failed to even get a related field job.

Considering going to grad school? Becareful! According to G.T. rules, professor are required to give a C average to their classes in order to fulfill the "bell curve" statistic. In other words, mostly C's, some B's and D's and very few A's and F's. It doesnt matter how smart you are, so long as majority of the class did better than you, then you fall on the lower end of the curve. In other words…a potential D or F. Thats how the class is designed which its why they make it extra hard. How hard? TO the point where people were cheating in order to meet the passing grade. It was even on the news about a huge number of students were convicted of cheating. Were talking in the hundreds. So therefore, no social life, bad teaching skills, no real hands on experience, tough classes resulting into bad grades resulting into harder time to get job and getting accepted to grad school. Theres only one good thing about G.T. and that is their Coop Program. Other than that, the number of drop outs and refusal to return tells you how bad things are going in G.T.
