So here's the thing… the people at Olin are absolutely amazing. But, not just the students. The professors are amazing as well as the staff. Everyone is very approachable. I have walked into the offices of professors that I never had, and they stopped what they were doing to talk to me. It is, at times, hard to find professors but that is because they are constantly working on stuff for class. It is not uncommon to get e-mails from professors at midnight or to see one of them leaving at 1:30 AM. The professors are dedicated first and foremost to the education of their students. That is something you can't get at a research university. We are also doing many new things. Engineering education is in the process of changing, and we are leading the change. We are not MIT. We are not trying to be MIT. Things at Olin are constantly changing. Since everything is new, sometimes a class won't go perfectly, however everything is getting better. Nothing is stationary. A class will literally change styles in the middle of the semester based solely from feedback. Check us out. We aren't for everyone, but we are for some. You might like us.
