At the time, a not-very-selective college (things have changed), but one where it was possible to go very deeply into a major or an extra curricular activity and really learn a lot. Don't worry about the size of the surrounding town—there is a whole lot happening on campus, and if you like, you can organize all sorts of new activities. It gets a little cold on the walkways (winter wind from the valley), but the trade-off is worth it: the valley is spectacular most times of year, and every student eventually finds himself or herself relaxing while watching an excellent sunset. Lots and lots and lots of beer, but you can ignore it if you like. Altogether, a very good choice.
