The reason I evaluate UMD as a poor college is that the education is garbage when compared to the money you are paying for it. Going to this school now costs around $15,000 per year (tuition, fees, room & board) for in-state students. You would think with costs increasing 10-50% a year that the quality of education would increase. But no, instead the administration and faculty have taken it upon themselves to give themselves pay raises. For example, the school now wants to give professor a pay raise of 10%, our president's salary increased 50% from the past 3 years to a grand salary of over $350,000 per year. This money could be better spent improving campus security as there has been several day light muggings of students on campus. Or it could be used to fix up some of the buildings that are falling apart badly. But, the people who run the school have no brains…
