Rowan is only good for some people. If you just want to go to college to get a degree, have a limited social life (less then 5 good friends) or you already have a large number of friends in South Jersey that are reasonable accessible from Glassboro, don't want to leave your family far behind, yet still get a half-way decent education and college experience, Rowan would be good for you. If, on the other hand, you want to break out of your hometown, be challenged in college, have exciting, memorable experiences (stuff you would tell the grandkids), and meet fasinating people, then DO NOT go to Rowan.

Important things to consider: 1) The professors are very smart, unfortunatly they are often horrible teachers. 2) People ussually don't talk to each other in class, nor do they participate. Ussually if you say "hi" to someone in class, they will say "hi" back… then followed up with a dirty look. 3) Best way to make friends is to join a frat or sorority. 4) Frats and sororities are often made up of annoying, dramatists. 5) The campus is a little shabby looking. While there are some places that make for a good viewbook photo, the school looks like it's twice as old as it really is. 6) There are some people that struggle to have a good college experience. If you can find them, they make great friends… however they ussually transfer. 7) there are NOT as many campus activities as they claim to have, most of them are lame. 8) Great sport teams, but the college doesn't support them enough. 9)The surrounding area is actually pretty good. If you use superpages.com you can find the area has convient shopping such as a 24hr Wal-mart and 24hr Shoprite. However, there's not much to do. It's a typical Jersey suburban area. Lot's of housing developments too. 10) Don't tell your parents, but there's a huge party scene. But it's mostly made up of people getting drunk and trying to get laid. Not really a good time unless you're really horny or have had a really sheltered childhood.

VERY important things to consider: 1) I believe there's a 30% drop/transfer rate. Be prepared to transfer if you're not 100% comfortable with the school. 2) Most people do not get jobs in the field they want. Unless of course you want to be a teacher. 3) Most graduates are under-employed 4) It is, however, a good school for teaching. People that graduate with a teaching degree/certificate will often find a good job. 5) No offense to any grads or students, but most people are delusional about the school. It gets hyped up a lot. 6) A great deal of money is spent on propaganda and making obscure improvements to the school, such as their new campuses in the Carribian. 7) There is a major parking problem, it's been a problem for close to 15 years now. It's never going to get fixed.

Overall, some people love the school, some people hate it, the rest just deal with it.

Important adivice: If you're not happy at Rowan, do not assume all colleges are the same. It is very important to consider transfering if you don't like the school.
