The education here was pretty good…it didn't really make me push myself too hard. The amount of work I put in was pretty reasonable, but I still learned quite a bit. The problem is, the students tended to be very wealthy, and that was very difficult and off-putting for students who weren't. People made fun of me for having a work-study job, seriously, and they treated me like crap when I had to help them at my job. It was like students on financial aid were second-class citizens. Basically, they were by far the most self-centered group of people I have ever encountered. The idea that everyone wasn't as well off as they were never crossed their minds. The students here are very smart, but they are in total Big 10 mode- they just don't care about academics. They are more concerned about what brands they are wearing, where the next party is and what kind of job they are going to get. When I was there, 40% of the school was Greek, which was far too high for me. The school is really segregated along Greek/Non-Greek lines. It wasn't hell or anything, but I wouldn't go there again. I would pick a school where the person is more important than the brand they are wearing, and people care about things besides themselves.
