Date: Feb 04 2004 Major: Biology (This Major's Salary over time) I admit it: Georgia Tech sucked. The school drained the life right out of me. What I found amazing, though, was how it prepared me SO WELL for medical school. Because I had no social life and was generally miserable at Tech, the jump to Medical School was not a difficult one at all. To the contrary, while other students were struggling with the workload and having difficulty adapting to studying all the time, I found that it was not much different from my undergrad years. Don't get me wrong; medical school is definitely harder than Tech. The point is, Tech prepared me better than most of my peers. I also found that fellow Tech grads performed better as residents, and tended to make fellow status or attending status quicker than others (with a few exceptions). All in all, I don't regret going to Tech. If you had asked me the same thing 10 years ago, I would have told you to go somewhere else. Stick with it; it will be worth it. You won't be any smarter than the other kids…you will just be more disciplined.
