My only gripe with Lehigh is about the new administration…

For example, this page was laughable… www3.lehigh.edu/greeklife/socpolcompare.asp …Pfft, Lehigh's social policy is liberal?! …Yeah, sure it is, EXCEPT they forgot to mention things like: #1, There are even intrusive alcohol regulations for students OVER 21, etc. i.e, Pres. Farrington would make a good dictator (or nosy landlord—except laws actually prohibit a landlord from enacting some of his policies regarding what you can do on the private property which landlords or Lehigh own, but which you reside in ;-) ), and really ;-) his talents are being wasted in this job where he does not have complete control over what you do. His attitude is precisely the reason that Lehigh needed to create bullsh*t P.R. webpages like this. (And yet, Lehigh's moronic policies—like Prohibition and other anti-populist measures—aren't even very successful: e.g., www.epartyschool.com/top_party_schools.html and my own firsthand knowledge.)

#2, There is a reason why (for example, #1, above) Lehigh didn't show the entire extent of each school's social policy on that page, and a reason why Lehigh gave no supporting data for WHY these four colleges are allegedly more similar to Lehigh than any others, and therefore, are allegedly the only ones we should compare Lehigh to (i.e, This is only a cherry-picked data-set of anecdotal "evidence"). Lehigh is primarily an ENGINEERING school which should have plenty of employees who are skilled with RESEARCH METHODS (e.g., know the importance of using broad-based averages rather than anecdotes), and yet, couldn't do better than this (and be more HONEST)?

That webpage's representation of their social policy is modeled after commercials like, "Brite toothpaste gets your teeth whiter!" (than coal), "Tumor Light cigarettes, with 20% less tar!" (than your driveway), or "Yum Yum light cookies! Half the fat!" (Five times the sugar!). Personally, I think this act of presenting such a dubious, sophist argument exhibits less character than the act of underage drinking which their policies try to stop—although only the latter is illegal, and the above examples of commercial claims, just like Lehigh's claims, are surprisingly legal.

…But legal or not, The Administration should be ashamed to blacken Lehigh's name with such fallacious arguments, especially since others at Lehigh are trying to present credible research data. Thankfully, Lehigh's professors (as compared to administration) teach REAL science instead of this example of politicized (P.C.) "data" which ignores the larger picture in favor of ONLY presenting half-truths to justify the admin's position. (Also, even IF a fuller set of data were to show their policies are normal, their page's argument is an "appeal to popularity," a logical fallacy.)

All in all, I'd go back again, but now, with a wariness that Fuhrer Farrington might try even more draconian measures once he sees that despite his efforts, Lehigh is still a top party-school as well as a Barron's Top-50 (i.e., great academics), which is a great, rare combination he seems intent on ruining and unbalancing.
