this university is better than a lot because we live in an awesome city. the school is big, yes…but after a few months it feels like a small campus, i can't go a day without seeing at least 10 people i know, and being here everyday doesn't drag on and it doesn't feel like work you don't want to be doing. the thing about going to school here is yes, we are a big ten school but and however we are not a school-only orientented bunch. it isn't all about just being here on campus and just doing school related social activities (sorry greek people) but we live in minneapolis, which is a great place to be. i hate when people whine about this school not being like "madison" (which excuse me but i am glad that it isn't…i like remembering my weekends and actually going places and doing things other than bonging 10 beers, taking some farmies and then stumbling into bars on state street…every town would have a state street if they just lined up all the bars and clubs in a few block radius…but some people like to be more creative with city design…)to go here you have to spend time away from university and 4th and the como area, go to downtown or uptown and do something…this town has a great music and art scene and it saddens me when people don't broaden their horizons…go do something when you are here…you will thank me later.
