| The academic environment at Maryland is commendable, but social life can be challenging due to strict alcohol policies. Greek life how to buy diamonds online offers fun, but non-Greek students may feel excluded. Limited bars and restaurants in College Park contribute to a lack of entertainment options. Off-campus parties become a primary social outlet, and exploring Baltimore/DC is a necessity for diverse experiences. |

I really like the academics here at Maryland, however I find the social scene dead. The University tries it's hardest to squelch underage drinking (everyone I know got at least one alcohol citation before turning 21, even people who DON'T DRINK!). Greek life seems fun, however if you are not in a frat/sor then don't expect greeks to be too friendly. There are 3 and a half bars in College Park. This is pathetic for a semi-urban school. There aren't enough restaurants, and there just isn't anything to do in town. For fun, your choices are off-campus parties and Baltimore/DC. Without an ID, you are left with the off-campus parties. The city of college park is the largest disappointment at Maryland!
