It took me a while to get used to the style of Boston College. A large group of people who were extremely successful in high school will have a difficult time adapting to some of the students at BC. At first it seemed a large majority of the student population was unintelligent and uninformed and I was surprised that some of them were even able to get in. However, after a while I realized that there are idiots anywhere they just seem to stick out. Now after my second year, I can't imagine a better school. No school has the balance you can find at BC. Between academics, athletics, social life, and options, BC is unique. It does deserve its reputation as a drinking school, but with Boston being so close, there are enough other options. If you are solidly morally opposed to drinking, you should probably avoid BC and head to BYU instead. It's not a school for everyone, but stay open through the first year and you will at least have a good 4 years and a good chance of success after.
