Major: Computer Science (This Major's Salary over time)
It seems that the computer science courses here are not about learning how to think for yourself or learn good programming style or further your knowledge of cutting-edge computation systems. The impression I get is that a few companies paid some money to the CS department and now they don't teach any classes other than the ones that prepare you for sitting in a cubicle churning out code for cable boxes or reading entries from a database and squirting them over the network. In short: something you could learn from a "Teach yourself ____ in 21 days" book and a few websites if you're not a complete moron. If a GT degree is really indicative of anything, it's that you can put up with a load of shafting and bull**** for 4 or 5 years with the slim hope that your life/job won't suck after that time. Hardly the kind of education I came to an institute of higher learning for.
