Positive Negative Neutral Advice
Millikin is very expensive and doesnt show fromBrightEducation
Millikin is very expensive and doesnt show from the facilities. many class rooms in the main building are old and worn out. res life does a very poor job in investigating reports. the campus security is friendly but does a poor job, many students have been robbed and there are alot of people that dont go to the school that roam the campus and attend parties to start fights. the local gas station has been robbed many times already. there is nothing off campus and the surrounding city is a ghetto.the sports programs are way underfunded and almost ever sport has poor coaching. the campus environment is very dreadful almost every student does not want to be there, many first year students will not return for the second semester. the cafe food is also expensive and poorly made. many of the foods will be reused until they run out and the will make you run for the bathroom after every meal. the only positive about millikin is that they have excellent teachers here. they are all very approachable and are more than willing to help you.the only reason anyone should come here is to major in music because it is the only department that receives proper funding.

Question
I am a Theatre Stage Management Major andBrightPerfomance Arts
I am a Theatre Stage Management Major and love the faculty. I am close with almost all of my professors and I love them. I don't even need to talk about my program because it is that good, I do not have complaint. I absolutely love it here and there are so many things to be involved in, you just have to crawl out of your dorm. As for the people who say there is nothing to do, that is a bloody lie. I have something to do every single day of the week on top of working on a show so really Millikin is great any negative comments come from a jaded bitterness towards the school and community due to their own poor choices.

Question
I seriously thought about transferring my sophomore year,Super BrilliantChemistry
I seriously thought about transferring my sophomore year, but I realized that Millikin University, like many things in life, is graded by your outlook. I would miss so many things that Millikin has offered me if I went to a different school. Sure, the school is expensive, but they do give a ton of scholarships out.

My professors have been absolutely wonderful to me. I love the fact that I can walk write in to any prof's office for help. They know who I am by first name. My classes are challenging and I feel like I'm learning a lot.The main issues lay in the fact that Millikin is in the ghetto and that people are mugged and shot at almost every day around campus. Safety & Security, like others wrote, is useless. Also, there is some truth when people say that Millikin students are rich and stuck-up. I have felt that way at times, but I'm sure there are students like that everywhere. For the most part, I have been able to meet friends here at Millikin. Not EVERYBODY is stuck-up...it's all about finding out who you are and who you want to hang out with.
